A place of peace and inner contemplation in nature, Maramures. We have been back in Romania in the Maramures region, more precisely in Botiza, for some time now. We deliberately chose this place a few years ago to find peace and quiet in nature.
It's a wonderful feeling to get up in the morning and hear nothing but the sounds of nature. To experience and feel anew the essential things that you take for granted. We live in an old wooden house here and if we don't light a fire in the stove, it's simply not warm.
During this time, I am completely with myself and switch off from everything. I focus on myself, my life, my wife and my projects. Developing new ideas, continuing to work on existing project ideas, harmonising and combining everything.
It's such a wonderful place on earth where I get to see a different side of creation. A few days ago, we stopped at a house at the end of the village and got chatting to the inhabitants. All they owned was a cow, a pig with six piglets, a few chickens, an old house with a car and a bit of land.
When we left, we were given three eggs, a piece of bacon, some meat, a litre of milk and some sour cream without being asked. When we asked in shame what they were getting in return, the family said nothing, "We have received so much from God that we are happy to share it with you.
That stayed with us for days and touched my heart deeply.
